This article provides brief information about the history of the emergence and development of fine arts. Analytical reflections are given on the essence, role and necessity of such theoretical knowledge as observation, sight, feeling, imagination in teaching students to draw in fine arts. It also gives ideas about the trends and contents of the genres of fine arts in each period of their development.
