This article discusses the problems and solutions for developing students' independent work skills in chemistry classes. The introduction of the credit-module system in the educational process of the country's universities requires the formation of skills to work independently from schools. In this article, it is given information on the introduction of 3D-illustrated textbooks of chemistry classes in secondary schools. Information on non-standard laboratory experiments for independent learning of students, the use of virtual laboratories and information technology in the teaching process, modern, mainly interactive, educational tools, as well as ways to increase the ability of students to learn independently and creatively given.
