THE ROLE OF DISCURSIVE COMPETENCE IN THE FORMATION OF ORAL ENGLISH SPEECH OF LAW STUDENTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the actualization and importance of discursive competence in the formation of oral speech of law students based on the English language. The author points out that discursive competence and knowledge of English set expressions help law students develop oral speech, skills of analysis, inference, and deduction, and also contribute to the development of interest in the artistic possibilities of the language. The research classifies the most popular English legal idioms according to their subject, making it much easier for students to find the necessary lexical units for successful and productive foreign language communication. Based on the study, it is possible to argue that discursive competence based on legal terms is quite numerous and appropriate in informal communication situations.
